I am new to all this. I am trying to lose weight, gain muscle, and tone my body all in one go so I am not sure where to start. Someone mentioned that you should have something before you workout if you want to sustain energy. Now I am wondering what food is best for something like this as I am prone to feeling sick if I eat too soon before exercising.
Instead of eating a meal, a snack would likely be better. A good workout snack is peanut butter. You can eat a few spoons of it with water or you can eat a banana with a bit of peanut butter on top. You can also do a peanut butter shake of sorts using almond milk.
I agree about opting for a snack instead. I found that anytime I tried to eat a full meal before a workout, it did nothing but slow me down. If you want to eat a meal, wait at least an hour before working out.
Yogurt, peanut butter, chicken, broccoli, oats, beans, berries, eggs, and apples are all highly recommended. You can do a mix of these as a meal or a snack.
Do you know how to make bone broth? Since you are prone to stomach upset, it might be worth making that and drinking that before your workout. It won't bulk up your stomach. You can eat a piece of toast with it as well.
Since you are looking to do all three, I would advise you focus on one per month. So focus more on muscle gain one month, then weight loss, then toning. You can't build muscle while you are trying to burn fat.
