Since I am starting to focus more on my diet and not just my workout plan, I want to be sure I am eating healthy after I exercise. I have a tendency to reach for just about anything and I know that sometimes I eat items too high in calories or carbs which defeats my entire workout. What are some healthy options to eat after exercise?
If you are looking to gain muscle, stick to lean protein rich meals like a healthy chicken salad with light dressing. You will want to avoid carbs. Just go with what you think works well for your body. Just pay attention to carb and calorie content.
Chicken, turkey, and fish are the best options. You just want to avoid fried versions. So a big chicken breast with some green beans and a baked potato would be a good option. I like to have this on days when I am feeling bloated. It helps a lot for recovery too.

Cardio or weight training? Or both? I think tailoring your diet according to what kind of exercise you are doing is key. If you are muscle training, you can get away with more carbs and sugar where as with cardio, you want to greatly decrease both.
