When I mentioned natural or “whole” I mean foods that are in their natural state. So raw veg and fruit, uncooked/baked nuts and seeds, and things of this nature. What are the best options for pre workout foods if you are sticking as close to wholefoods as possible?
You can make your own dips and eat raw veggies with said dips. You can do something like guacamole and vegetables or hummus and vegetables.
Fruit and yogurt is a good combination or some kind of vegetable dip with veggies is great too. Both options are good snacks to eat anytime but they are loaded with healthy nutrients so it makes them great for pre and post workouts.
Just cut up some vegetables and fruit like mentioned. Two good combinations are apples and peanut butter or celery and peanut butter. Both are healthy snacks.
I like to eat green peppers with a bit of ranch dressing to dip them in. Two whole green peppers is only about 100 calories plus 100 from the dressing and you have yourself a health 200 calorie whole foods pre workout snack.

This is what I would do. It is easy and healthy. It would be the same as eating chips and dip but loads better for you and since you are eating it before working out, your body will make the most out of the nutrition.
