I like to work out in the morning and since the lockdown, I have been able to do this since I am working full time from my home office for what may end up being the rest of the year or at least until summer is over. Anyways, I want to get some good morning pre workout meal options listed so I can get some items when I go shopping next.
I know it will sound weird but one of the best things you can do in the morning in terms of nutrition is to drink an 8 ounce glass of milk and have 2 eggs. They can be hard boiled if you are short on time or fried but be sure to use olive or coconut oil, not butter.
Someone I know has whey pancakes. I never heard of such a thing but he swears by them. I am sure you can find the recipe online. As for me, I like to just eat eggs with vegetables. Keep it light.
If you want to eat and then jump right into your workout within 20 to 30 minutes, you are better off doing a breakfast shake or sticking to food like fruit and yogurt, things that digest fast. If you have a regular breakfast before working out, you can get sick to your stomach.
If you can stomach it, just eat whatever you like. If the workout is intense enough, you can easily eat waffles, pancakes, anything like that and be fine. Just be sure to wait one hour before working out.
Since you are working from home, opt for something like a health shake or protein shake. You can get mixes that you just blend with a few items or make them yourself. I would make them yourself and just buy some green superfood powder to bulk up the nutrition.
